The Tab feels like a grab bag of neglect, good intentions and poor execution.

Matt Buchanan, of Gizmodo gives the Samsung Galaxy Tab, a good once over, and while he is careful to point out what is great about it, the problems clearly outweigh the benefits.
This is what I have been waiting for, a real person to have their hands on it long enough to say what is good and what is not, and I think I am glad I took an offer from a friend to buy his iPad at a nice little discount.
However from what I can tell, most of the issues, are software related, and could possibly be fixed when Google releases tablet friendly Gingerbread slated for sometime around the new year. But he also does complain about the awkward size of the device too, and updates can’t fix that.
What do you think? have you picked up the Galaxy Tab yet?

We need something, Android seems 95% there, Chrome is non existant, WebOS is buried in some HP Lab, and Windows 7 is overkill for a $500 device. What are we supposed to use Google?

But if an American DTV tuner was included for the US release, that could be a real distinguishing factor for the Sammy tablet. Interesting… no?

but Chrome OS unlike Android is completely unproven in the field. This had better be one cheap device (on contract or off) to make people want to invest in some new technology at christmas time, in this economy.
