NASA was able to capture unbelievable photos of the sun’s surface during an active solar flare which caused plasma to flicker out!
Wait I’m not a Gemini, I’m a Taurus!? And always have been!? And we added a new one entirely, and that happens to be my wife….?
I’m not sure how compatible a Ophiuchus and a Taurus are…. oh dear…. this would be a huge cause for concern… if I cared.
About That New Zodiac Thing of the Day: So the moon caused the Earth to wobble and now everyone is up in arms because their astrological signs have shifted.
Except this is nothing even remotely new: Here’s a NASA article from 2005 listing these same exact dates that are now being peddled around as game-changers. According to the article they are merely the real dates “when the Sun is between Earth and each of these 13 constellations”
Also: Astrology isn’t real.

This Insane Photo Destroyed a Camera Lens - Delta 4-heavy rocket lift-off
“The particular setup for this was sound activated. The lens was destroyed (worth it of course) but the camera survived this one despite being severed from its ratchet straps and thrown to the ground, and the sound device used for this one disconnected from the camera and thrown about 200 feet backwards into the pad perimeter fence (still worked!). All settings are preset manually. No one is allowed closer than several miles from a launch.”
I always like to plug the home town boys when they are doing the right thing.
The Rochester Business Journal is reporting that it’s Kodak CCD image sensors that will be heading up in the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter that will be used to map the surface of the Moon.
Why are we mapping the moon? Well because we can and we should, but more importantly it’s part of a long term project for a lunar base station. We can’t build on the moon without knowing what terrain we will find before we get there.
It’s not like we will be able to just call in an extra backhoe or swing by the local Lowes to pick up the stuff we forgot. ;-)
Anyway it’s very cool to see Kodak still relevant in cutting edge space technology. Kudos to Tony and the gang accross the street from me. :)
