Pinch me I must be dreaming…
What would be the one thing that would be better than free Hulu on my TV and iPad? Yes Free BBC iPlayer.
Uploaded with Skitch!I love british programming, and short of paying $120 for a ridiculous cable package just to get BBC America there no easy (legal) way to get their programming here stateside.
But if you are already in the realm of the BBC, then you have access to the BBC iPlayer, a web based streaming service for Brits by Brits.
Sure there are ways to proxy and hack around to getting it here, but would I happily watch a few ads or pay a few dollars a month to have unlimited access their TV offerings on my large screen or *gasp* my iPad? Heck yeah.
No details from the BBC yet on weather it will be Ad supported, or subscription based, but the fact that it’s moving off the Isle is a great sign.
…
It’s not really a bad idea, but… in order for me to want to pay for it, I’m going to want to see the following included…
Depending how you read this headline it either means (a) that Fox and Conan are close to consummating the very deal that NBC was trying to block way back when they promised him the Tonight Show and created their latest late night mess or (b) they’re working on some sort of virtual/CG version of his show, hopefully featuring him as a 10-foot tall blue-skinned ginger (which technically only involves adding a few inches and making a slight hue adjustment).

Via my friend Kym, a nice article on using the Xbox 360 as a TV input for all sorts of digital files.
